Initially my clients came to us wanting an updated kitchen more connected to their living room. We did just that plus we added a bay window with window seat to the eating area.

The following year my clients returned. Their two girls needed their own bedrooms and there was talk of Grandma moving in at some future date. The option of building up was considered and rejected in favor of a rear addition as it allowed them to continue to live in their house while the new wing was being built. By combininga bedroom with the rear entry we created a family room. It now sits at the center of the house with the existing house to one side andthe new 2-story rear addition with a bedroom and bath on each floor on the other.

In the final step of the remodel we enclosed the front porch giving our clients a much needed mud room where shoes and jackets can be dropped instead of where they used to land in the living room.
