Glenview Tiny House

Remodel
Oakland, CA

This 750SF home was originally a rambling warren of small rooms. The owner, an artist, wanted an open flexible space for cooking, entertaining and doing her art-work. We gutted the house and created a simple open floor plan. We turned the side laundry shed with exterior access around and opened it into the living space transformed into a built in seat. The laundry was moved to the new enlarged bathroom. To provide acottage character we replaced the existing gyp-board on the country-kitchen ceiling with wood and horizontal boards were used as wall finish in the bedroom. Using Ikea cabinets helped keep costs down.
