Built on a steep hillside, the existing one story
house was only 800sf. The owner wanted to retain it
as a second unit and build a new main unit above to
capture the view. The addition straddles the existing
house supported on its own structure and provides
shade for its southern exposure. The living space is unencumbered with furnishings as it is used for workshops.
